The table shows the mean number of vehicles passing through the Western tunnel, Eastern tunnel and Central tunnel.Table1 shows the average number of vehicles from Monday to Friday while table 2 shows the average number of vehicles on holidays and weekends.It is evident that more vehicles use the tunnels from Monday to Friday ,while fewer vehicles use the western tunnel compared with the other two.
The Central tunnel has the greatest number of vehicles with 9500 per hour using it from Monday to Friday.On the other hand, the western tunnel has the least number of taxis with only 90 per hour using it from Monday to Friday. From Monday to Friday, only 800 buses use the Eastern tunnel whereas over 2500 private cars use it.
On holidays and weekends on average only 100 taxis and good vehicles use the western tunnel, whereas over 1500 taxis and good vehicles per hour use the central tunnel.
